Testimonials

The NPA program has fundamentally changed how my two boys learn and practice pitching. The program’s approach of instilling bio mechanical efficiency and an arm care regimen for younger competitive athletes has made my boys much more consistent pitchers while minimizing over-use injuries. I highly recommend the program.

NPA is a proven program that produces results!!! It provided my son the confidence and the knowledge to make in-game adjustments, leading to greater success. NPA’s expert instructors not only understand the foundational mechanics at any level, but also emphasize the importance of arm care and protecting pitchers from serious injury. Thank you Tom House and NPA for this tremendous program!!

My son JT has been in the National Pitching Program with Coach Lou for 2—almost 3 years now and I want to tell you a little bit about what the program’s done for him. Probably one of the biggest is arm care and it really teaches the program that it goes through for arm care has been phenomenal. It never fails, no matter if it’s spring, summer, or fall. Whatever team he’s on, my son is on, there’s always several players who miss time because of a hurt or sore arm from pitching. My son has never had any issues with that whatsoever, not even a sore arm, hurt, he’s missed no practices, no games, no kind of competition, because of, you know, arm care. So, that’s proven to be very successful. The other part is, that he’s benefited from, is understanding pitching. And what I mean by that is when he’s out on the mound, and there is some problem, where something that’s not going right, he knows what he needs to do to fix it. The program, and Coach Lou when he goes through it, he understands what everything does and what the effect is. So understanding that if you do a certain thing, what the outcome is, you know how to fix it. And he can fix it on his own in a game, and doesn’t need to have a constant reminder what to do to fix certain problems. So just understanding the pitching, you know, and the detail and level of knowledge that the program and Coach Lou has given him, has been invaluable. Um, and you know speaking of that, I guess that’s the other part too, is the coaching, you know, it’s very customized. So, it’s not trying to force my son into doing something that it’s not who he is. He has a natural arm slot. They don’t try to change that. They try to make his style match what he has the ability for and what’s natural for him. So that’s been really helpful, and what’s it’s done is it’s helped his confidence and it’s not asking him to do something that’s unnatural. And, you know, I guess in part of that too is that you can’t not talk about performance. And that’s probably another big piece of what my son has gained from the National Pitching Program is the performance. Not only just velocity, the velocity has increased significantly, but his accuracy has too. And it’s amazing how the two are tied together, at least for my son. Once the velocity started to go up, so has his accuracy. So, you know, you put that, you know, all together, and it’s made him a much much better and successful pitcher. The other part too is, I think with this program is it’s really shown my son that if you put the work in, you reap the reward. So you gotta put the work in, but the reward is tremendous. And I really enjoy that to see him understand that you put the hard work in, and there is a reward that you get back. So, you always hear that the adage of trust the process. That could not be more true in this situation is that you listen to what you’re told and do what you’re told, good things happen and you’ll be successful. So, uh I just wanted to share what the National Pitching Program and Coach Lou have done for my son and thank you.

John has been with Coach Lou for a couple months and his son, Jerry, is thirteen. Jerry loves the program. He does the workouts that you (Coach Lou) prescribe to him everyday. I’ve noticed a tremendous difference in the size of his shoulders, his strength in his arms and core since he’s been doing your exercises. I just think it’s a phenomenal program. Before coming to the National Pitching Program, Jerry fractured his growth plate in his pitching arm from bad mechanics. He was around 10 years old then. I think it was more bad mechanics, that’s the way the doctor described it to us. And that’s one thing I love about your program is that it teaches about the arm care, teaching the kids how to properly throw, to build up their arms to prevent such injuries in the future. Since he’s been working with your program, he’s never had a sore arm again, since he’s been working it. I noticed that he’s pitching a lot harder than he used to. And I noticed that it helped him in shortstop too, throwing the ball to first base. So I’ve noticed he’s always throwing hard but it’s to the point now that I need a catchers mitt to play catch with him because he’s throwing so hard. I just think it’s a great program. I know Jerry’s very enthusiastic about it and he’s really enjoys working with you. He feels that you’re teaching him a lot and he has a lot more to learn. So we plan on sticking with you throughout high school

If you are looking for a pitching coach, Coach Christenson is the coach you’re looking for! What I like most about Coach Christenson is his ability to communicate and his attention to detail. Coach Christenson evaluated my son, had him work on specific drills for what he needed to improve his skill set and used his own back ground of pitching experience to help train and coach him. Coach Christenson is an asset to his team and to Field of Dreams!

Ryan began working with our son when he attended a local camp. He has gone on to do several group and individual sessions. The two have developed a relationship unlike any other coach/athlete bond I’ve seen. Having watched him teach lessons to several others, I feel confident in saying other parents probably feel the same. Ryan takes the time to truly get to know each player, their strengths/weaknesses, how they think/feel about baseball and their performance goals. It’s not unusual for him to drive to watch a game on an off day, just to see one of his players in a game situation. We’ve watched our son make tremendous strides in mechanics and velocity all while strengthening his knowledge and love of this great game. If you’re searching for a coach for your child, you can stop looking now. You’ve found him.

We came to coach Christenson to help with our 11 year olds control. Coach Christenson took time to do video analysis to identify mechanics for him to work on. Immediately coach Christenson developed a great relationship with our son. Our son understood right away that coach Christenson cared about him improving and truly was committed to helping him get better. Coach Christenson identified three areas to focus on each week and each week our son became more confident on the mound . By the end of the six sessions our son was 100% more confident and showed amazing improvement. We plan to continue to utilize coach Christenson’s coaching services and look forward to our son developing more confidence and advanced pitching skills. As a parent I appreciate the follow-up after each session and availability for any questions we had at any time. Coach Christenson responds immediately to our email or phone messages. We would recommend coach Christenson to anyone looking for help improving their child’s pitching skills.

My son has attended a number of pitching camps “across the river” and not one of the instructors talked about arm care. With my son starting traveling baseball, I began looking for someone to teach him how to keep his arm healthy. That’s when I found Ryan Christenson. Our discussions started with the Velocity Program. Ryan talked about the research and science behind the Velocity Program. I wasn’t looking for something to make my son throw harder, I was looking for something to keep his arm healthy. And that’s exactly what this program does. Ryan has taught my son the proper way to warm up, provided drills to work on for proper pitching mechanics, along with the individualized velocity program. Ryan is providing my son with, as he puts it, “tools for his tool box”. Ryan’s ability to work with young athletes is outstanding. His use of cutting edge technology and providing feedback to the athlete in a way they understand is amazing.

Ryan is always available for questions at any time. He shows the athlete and parent that he truly cares. I am truly pleased with the strides my son has made, not only in his mechanics and his overall arm strength, but most importantly, his ability to stay healthy! I would highly recommend Ryan to any parent looking for help with their child’s throwing, whether it be mechanics, arm strength, and most importantly arm care!!

Our son has been working with Coach Ryan at Precision Pitching for the past 9 years. We first meet Coach Ryan when our son was 9 years old and he is going to be a HS Senior this fall. Because of the training and coaching our son has received he is now looking at playing baseball in college and beyond! Our son’s dream of playing college or beyond would not have been possible without the training from a Coach like Ryan. He was able to see our son’s talent, ability, and shear love for the game of baseball. Coach Ryan helped him put it all together with arm care, which has always been a very important part of our son’s mission. He didn’t want to hurt or injure his arm because of bad mechanics, so we looked for a coach that would be able to help him all aspects of pitching. Our son and Coach Ryan hit it off right away and it is great to watch the two of them work thru a lesson. As a parent it is the greatest thing to watch your child come into their own by putting in the work and seeing the results. Coach Ryan truly cares about all his student athletes and their success both on the filed and in life.

When our son was 9/10 years old he had several coaches from his little league tell him ‘yeah he throws hard, but he can’t pitch’; this bothered him as these same coaches refused to work, practice or teach him what he was doing wrong. Our son wanted more, we knew as his parents that we did not know enough about pitching to help him. So one night we sat down and googled “pitching coaches/camps near me” and up came Coach Ryan’s website. We have not regretted making that phone call and getting our son the “more” he wanted. We remind him when he gets frustrated or discouraged. ‘Remember the 9/10 year old that just wanted to pitch? Practice, work hard, and play for the love of game – pay for him’. We call Coach Ryan “the Pitcher whisperer” because he speaks “pitcher” to our son. Our son appreciated the fact that Coach Ryan was willing and quickly put together the zoom lessons and training. He looks forward to getting his video analysis from Coach to see what he improved on and what still needs some work. It is great to see him taking the reigns and putting in the work to become the best pitcher he can.

Ryan’s program is unlike any other in the area; he teaches mechanics, analysis, fitness and nutrition in a way that allows players to not only understand the reasoning behind the changes but to also see improvement almost immediately, helping them keep focus. After a 9-week group program, my son Andrew saw a 4 mph increase in velocity along with significant gains in accuracy. In addition, and the conclusion of the program Ryan left Andrew with instructions on how to build upon the gains he had made

Just as importantly, Ryan taught Andrew how to approach the mental side of pitching – how to prepare to compete, how to identify issues and self-correct if things aren’t going well, and ways to approach each batter to maximize effectiveness. We couldn’t be happier with our time with Coach Christenson, and would recommend him to anyone!

The PIT input and output has come a long way! I reviewed it this morning… what an AWESOME tool! This new format is sooo much more informative and detailed. I love the SCIENCE that goes into the NPA program. I think for the first time the information will actually be useful to Preston and help him to see WHY we keep pushing him to put in the extra work. I am hoping he will make the correlation between the velocity training tools (vballs, vbats, cords, plyoball, dumbbells, etc.), the block training, and drills and why he is OFF GOAL for lack of his individual training. I also think it will be good for him to see FAIL! I am hoping that a switch will turn on in his brain as he realizes that to be ON GOAL with no FAILS he has to buy into the program and put in the work! Anyway, I could go on but suffice it to say… I think spending the money for this information is the best money that could be spent by the serious pitcher that wants to get the most out of his ability! Looking forward to reviewing this with you next week.

My 11 year-old son has worked with Andy Moore for around 3 months and has seen substantial improvement in his mechanics, control, and velocity. As importantly, he has improved his confidence at the same time. My son made as much or more progress in a few months working with Coach Moore’s system as he had in the past few years prior. We look forward to continued progression.

As a parent of a young pitcher, protecting my son’s arm is paramount. From his very first session with National Pitching, and Coach Doxakis, we quickly saw how the programs pitching protocols, and arm care were exactly what Thomas needed to train, and improve his pitching abilities safely. Highly recommend the program.

My son has been participating in the NPA program for several years now. His mechanics have improved dramatically and he has become more confident on the field. He has learned proper technique and arm recovery. The program focuses on these two very important aspects of pitching. I am so glad that we found this program as it has been perfect for my son.

Hope you’re doing well and just wanted to send some praise you’re direction. Jacob has been working hard on your drills and is now in the part of the learning curve were he is not having to think about his mechanics.

This past weekend Jacob’s allstar team won their tournament. In the semifinals they played a team that had scored between 10 to 15 runs against every team they had played. He came in to start the 3rd, score was tied 1 to 1, he pitched the final 3 innings. He gave up 1 hit, 1 walk, 3 k’s, and no runs. His team won 5 to 1.

In the championship game, they were playing a team that had won their quarter final game 27 to 2 and their semi game 18 to 4 and had hit 3 home runs in those 2 games. He also came in to start the third and his team was losing 2 to 4. He pitched the final 4 innings and gave up 2 hits, 1 walk, 3 k’s, and no runs. His team won 5 to 4.

I had an ump came up to me and say that he pitched at Kennesaw State and that his “mechanics were ridiculous”. Jacob was always a good pitcher but his improvement with only 2 lessons is a true testament to the pitching methods that you teach. We both look forward to working with you into the future.

Jacob also wanted me to tell you that he can hold his planks for 4 1/2 minutes.

I wanted to thank you and everyone at the NPA Camp for such an enjoyable & educational week. I don’t think it would have been possible for us to have any better experience. Everyone on the team spent so much time educating my son to help him get better. All Chris kept saying was how great of a time he was having, how much he is learning and can we come back next year. Each of the coaches added so much to the learning process, which is a testament to Tom’s principals. I was so impressed, even with Tom’s very busy schedule he was able to meet with everyone including the parents to make sure they learned as much as they could. I felt his conversation at the start of each day were amazing. I thanked Tom but I honestly didn’t know what to say when Tom offered to have an NPA coach on the east coast personally call him to discuss my son to make sure he was trained correctly. It really meant the world to both of us. We plan on working with the coaches on the east coast and we’re already planning on visiting you in LA again next year. Thank you again and continued success with your program.

I just want to thank you for the very informative session at your clinic. My son came away wanting more from your program. He happened to pitch on Saturday and I told him not to try everything, but just to work in one of the simplest changes that he could. So he worked on splitting the ball down the middle. Well, it worked so well that he threw a no-hitter on Saturday! He struck out 16 and the other two outs were on attempted bunts. We will continue to incorporate your methods and we hope to get down to see you again soon. Thanks again.

“Thank you for working with Michael and I the last few days. Our experience was fantastic. He came back stoked to share the progress notes with his high school coaches. They seemed shocked to see a student know what to do to fix himself. His commitment to fix himself was never in question; you have created a second pitching coach for the team now. However the most important part of the weekend was the ability for a father and son to build deeper bonds.”

Thank you for that great memory!

Before coming to the program My mechanics were horrible, I was having a lot of problems with my shoulder and I had discomfort towards the front of my shoulder. My velocity was probably low 80s, maybe. I was not throwing strikes a lot. It was hard to understand for a little bit at the start, but the more I worked on it, I picked it up more and figured it out with you. I started trusting the process more. Yeah, now I pound the zone pretty well now ( he throws more strikes ). I definitely have increased velocity. I think I’m probably around mid-high 80s now.

Coach Christenson and the National Pitching have really helped to build and improve my pitching mechanics. Ryan has taught me a correct lift and lean, shown me why it’s important to keep my head forward instead of it being on a swivel, and also helped me understand what the results will be if we do things right. He is a very dedicated coach/mentor who looks forward to seeing your results. I am very excited to keep working with Ryan moving forward.

As a young pitcher, I couldn’t have been more fortunate to have Coach Christenson as a pitching coach. Each year of High School, Coach Christenson improved my velocity, accuracy, and helped me become a smarter, more consistent pitcher. Today, he continues to travel the United States to learn new strategies as to how to make a pitcher more successful. It has been a privilege to have him as a coach and a friend. I strongly recommend Coach Christenson to any pitcher who wants to fulfill their potential.

Coach Christenson knows what he is doing and knows what he is talking about. It is a great pleasure to work with him to better develop my pitching abilities. I experienced huge advances from fall baseball to throughout winter. Accuracy became better, off speed pitches became better. On top of all of that he also cares about you as a person and wants to make sure you are mentally strong. He provides great encouragement and things to do to help increase that. He is also able to adapt to any circumstances to help better your performance. This is something he also teaches you, is how to adapt to any circumstance on the mound. I can’t thank him enough for what he has done with bettering my development as a successful pitcher.

Dr. House’s knowledge of throwing mechanics and arm care, based on scientific fact from decades of research, is unsurpassed. He has spent a lifetime with the greatest minds and players of our era and his impact and influence on the game is remarkable. Today, through Tom House Sports and The National Pitching Association (NPA), his training protocols are used by the most elite world class rotational athletes in the world. The NPA is the Gold Standard when it comes to throwing and is an integral part of our program here at Sonoma State. With the epidemic of arm injuries in young ballplayers and the proliferation of and extended seasons of play, proper mechanics and arm care have never been more important. I applaud the NPA’s efforts to broaden the availability of their training and encourage all baseball organizations to make it part of their program. I feel blessed for the time Tom has spent with me and the players in our program. His tireless dedication and thirst for knowledge has made Dr. House a living legend in our game.

Pros

Tom’s emphasis on functional fitness addresses mechanics and training strategy: No wasted movement and no wasted time, transferring benefits gained in the training room to the pitching mound. You’re getting state-of-the-art and science conditioning ideas for a successful, long pitching career. You’ll find effective and efficient pitcher-specific exercises, drills, workouts, and programs, and you’ll get insights-such as when a sore arm is an injured arm—that will help get you healthy, if necessary, and will keep you healthy.
